PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the supporting position for a seat for a vehicle according to a physique of a seated person. SOLUTION: A seat back 2 is split into an upper half part 2U supporting the scapulae of the seated person and a lower half part 2L supporting the loins of the seated person. A head rest 4 is varied in height position to the seat back 2 by the operation of a head rest height adjusting mechanism provided on the seat back 2. The upper half part 2U of the seat back 2 is connected to stays 4S, 4S of the head rest 4, and with the vertical motion of the height position of the head rest 4, the height position to the lower half part 2L is moved up and down.
