PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enlarge the area of an intake port without taking in the moisture in a drying chamber. SOLUTION: The main body is provided with a drying chamber 1 where hands can be put in and out through an insertion port opening toward the outside part, a nozzle part 3 which sends air toward a water receiving part 2 at the bottom part of the drying chamber 1, a fan motor 4 which sends air from the nozzle part 3, a control part 5 which controls the motion of the fan motor 4, a heater 6 which turns the air from the nozzle part into hot air, and an intake port 7 which sends air to the fan motor 4. The intake port is provided at the back surface part 13 having an inlet port 8 of the drying chamber and at a part of the drying chamber, so that the hand dryer does not take in the moisture in the drying chamber and the area of the intake port can be enlarged.
