PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light-emitting element having an optical output of high brightness with a high efficiency, and good in durability. SOLUTION: This organic light-emitting element is composed of an anode, a cathode, and layers comprising organic compounds between the anode and the cathode, and at least a layer of the layers comprising organic compounds contains a naphthalene compound represented by general formula [1] (wherein Ar<SB>1</SB>is a not less than four-ring condensed ring aromatic hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent).
