A water hammer apparatus is provided to heighten the striking force of a bit by supplying compression force to hydraulic pressure to descend a piston for striking a bit directly using water pressure, and to prevent pulsation by the operation of a hammer unit by separating air from water for operating a hammer unit and storing the air. A water hammer apparatus connected by an accumulating body(150) and an air separator(100) installed to a drive rod(200) comprises a tubular main body(11) having a hollow, a socket(12) coupled to the end of the main body and having a water pressure supply passage(12a), a bit unit(20) installed to the bottom of the main body and having a bit(21) sliding in the longitudinal direction to perform perforation work for a bedrock layer and a soil layer, and a hammer unit installed to the main body between the socket and the bit unit to strike a bit.
