PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a wire bar, by which the wire bar having small deflection can be precisely manufactured without occurrence of step-like, stripe-like or dot-like coating unevenness, and the wire bar. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the wire bar is used for bar coating and is carried out by centerless-grinding a core metal, removing the bending of the core metal and winding a wire. The wire bar is manufactured by the method. The outer periphery of the core metal is preferably removed by 1-10% of the diameter of the core metal by the centerless grinding.
