PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulating electric wire which can be made thinner in diameter, has little fluctuation in contour, and is stable in electrical characteristic. SOLUTION: The insulating electric wire is provided with a center conductor 11 and an insulating layer 12 formed of a plurality of resins 21 of star shapes arranged at the outer circumference of the center conductor 11. The plurality of resins of star shapes which can be made thinner in diameter are arranged uniformly in a circumferential direction with the center conductor in the center and can make the fluctuation in contour smaller. Furthermore, the insulating layer 12 is formed of a fluororesin selected from PFA, FEP, and PTFE, the dielectric constant of the insulating layer 12 can be made smaller, and the insulating electric wire of stable electrical characteristics can be provided.
