PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a fold-back current limiting characteristic by a simple structure in a voltage output circuit having an overcurrent protection circuit. SOLUTION: This voltage output circuit is provided with a voltage generation part, a current detection part generating a first voltage meeting an output current by passage of the output current outputted from the voltage generation part, a protection start condition detection part generating a detection result determining whether the first voltage reaches a predetermined voltage value or not, a current control part controlling the voltage generation part for forcibly reducing the output current according to the detection result showing attainment of the predetermined voltage value of the first voltage, an output voltage detection part detecting a second voltage meeting the output voltage from the voltage generation part, and a voltage value shift control part controlling the protection start condition detection part so that the predetermined voltage value in the protection start condition detection part is shifted to a lower voltage value according to reduction in the output voltage.
