PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial nail having a long shape with a high-grade sensation and having superior wearing and handling properties. SOLUTION: This artificial nail 10 which is formed of a plastic molding and has an outline projectingly curved from a base toward a tip end, satisfies dimension ratios of the following formulas (1) and (2) and is characterized in that, when being placed on a flat surface, respective four margins are projectingly curved spaced from the flat face at an interspace with the maximum height of 0.5 mm or more. (1) 1.02≤L<SB>2</SB>/L<SB>1</SB>≤1.08 (2) 2≤L<SB>1</SB>/W<SB>p1</SB>≤3 In the expressions, L<SB>1</SB>is the shortest length along the axis in the longitudinal direction of the artificial nail, L<SB>2</SB>is a circumference length along the axis in the longitudinal direction of the surface of the artificial nail, and W<SB>p1</SB>is the width of the base of the artificial nail.
