A ductile cast iron scroll compressor is provided to employ a stronger scroll member so that the scroll compressor endures a severe operational state in relation to a shape of a compressor having high capacity. A scroll compressor(20) includes a spiral wrap and a scroll member(34). The spiral wrap extends from a base section(44) in order to form at least one portion of a compression chamber. The scroll member includes a fine structure with a graphite nodule. The graphite nodule is formed in a ferrite-perlite matrix. The fine structure has 80% to 100% of nodularity. The graphite nodule has a cylindrical shape. The compression chamber is formed by the scroll member and the wrap. |
