In a rotation/percussion unit (3), a crank housing (5) for holding the cylinder (19) by using a tubular section (18) is provided with a plate spring member (46) mounted so as to be movable forward and rearward in the direction of the axis of the cylinder (19) and engaging with an urging sleeve (53) mounted on the outer surface of the cylinder (19), at non-covered sections of a first slide tube (29) and a second slide tube (32) for closing an air hole (36).</p>
