The invention relates to a system for actuating at least one exterior indicator (CD, CG) for indicating a change of direction on board a road vehicle for roundabouts. According to the invention, it comprises: - an interface (6), comprising means (8) for user selection of an orientation of roundabout exit lanes from among several and a means (9) for storing said orientation in the guise of reference orientation (Dref), - a means (10) for detecting the real orientation (D) of the vehicle (V), - a unit (11) for controlling the actuator (3) of the exterior indicator (CD, CG) according to the real orientation (D) of the vehicle and the reference orientation (Dref).
