<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deformation of the connection section of a terminal fitting in a step of accommodating the terminal fitting in a separator. <P>SOLUTION: The terminal fitting 9 includes a separator accommodating section 91, that is accommodated in the insertion hole 74 of the separator 7 of an oxygen sensor 1; a detection element accommodating section 92 that is accommodated in a detection element 2; and a connecting section 93 that connects the separator accommodation section 91 and the detection element accommodating section 92. The separator accommodating section 91 includes a contact section that caulks the top end of a lead wire 22, and an urge section 96 that urges the inner surface of the insertion hole 74. The detection element 92 includes an element contact section 98, that contacts an inside electrode 27 by being inserted in the detection element 2 and then electrically connects the terminal fitting 9 and the detection element 2, and a heater-holding section 99 that holds a ceramic heater 3.
