PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce and emphasize an image in a store, as viewed from the outside by alleviating balance between external light and interior illumination of a store. SOLUTION: In this illumination control system, one surface of a facility, such as showroom or a store is provided with a window surface formed with a transparent plate allowing its interior to be viewed therethrough; in the interior, a wall surface is formed on the back side facing the window surface; and luminaires illuminating the interior space are arranged in the interior. When it is determined the illumination intensity of the external light is set higher than a set value, with respect to that of the interior based on detection signals of an external light detection sensor and an interior light detection sensor, light distribution of the wall surface-side illuminance by the luminaires is controlled, such that the luminaires illuminates the back-side wall surface.
