PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an inclination angle of a read original image at high speed and to require no large memory capacity for processing in a device which reads an image from an original. SOLUTION: An SIMD processing part 5 acquires each of the predetermined number of pixels arranged in the main scanning line direction in parallel from the read image data in parallel with a reading operation, detects change points of pixel data values in parallel for each of the predetermined pieces of acquired pixel data, records pairs of pixel position information and line position information of the change points as positional information of the detected change points at least at two positions and calculates the inclination angle of the image using a difference value of the pixel positional information and a difference value of the line positional information which are recorded.
