PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent channelling from occurring in a metal mesh frit with a plurality of layered and sintered metal meshes. SOLUTION: The first metal mesh 21 and the second metal mesh 23 different in mesh sizes are layered and sintered, and are thereafter cut into prescribed shapes to form the substantially disk-like frit 1. The first metal mesh 21 for forming a filtration layer 11 is preferably layered continuously with two or more of metal meshes having 200 mesh or more of mesh net, and is layered with the second metal mesh 23 via the third metal mesh 23 serving as a protection layer 12 to impart a desired strength to the frit 1. Outer edge parts 15 of the frits 1 are welded when layering continuously two or more of the first metal meshes 21, and an upper part of the welded outer edge part is further thermally sprayed when formed into one sheet of the first metal mesh 21 or the like, and a cavity of a cut face is closed to prevent the channelling from occurring.
