PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas cooler capable of removing dust deposited on the inner faces of cooling pipes or preventing its deposition. SOLUTION: The gas cooler 1 comprises the cooling pipes 2 arranged in an outer cylinder 3 in a vertical direction for distributing high temperature gas, and cooling medium to be distributed in a space between each cooling pipe 2 and the outer cylinder 3 for cooling the high temperature gas.
