PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus capable of ensuring image quality of an image printed while being transported by a transporting unit in a downstream side in the transporting direction. SOLUTION: In the transporting unit, a plurality of first transporting belts 6 and second transporting belts 7 are disposed at a predetermined interval in the direction intersecting with the printing medium transporting direction. A plurality of the transporting units are disposed along the printing medium transporting direction. Printing is carried out by discharging ink droplets from a first liquid jetting head 2 and a second liquid jetting head 3 onto the printing medium 1 transported by being electrostatically adsorbed by the first transporting belts 6 and the second transporting belts 7. In the printing, at the overlapping part of the first transporting belts 6 and the second transporting belts 7, the length of every other first transporting belt 6 in the printing medium transporting direction is caused to be long, thereby separating the printing medium 1 from the first transporting belts 6 at two locations in the printing medium transporting direction. As a result, the vibrations of the separation is dispersed two times, and the image quality of the image printed while being adsorbed and transported by the second transporting belts 7 can be ensured.
