PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer having enhanced conveyance accuracy of a printing medium. SOLUTION: This printer 1 comprises a platen 16 for supporting a sheet type printing medium 2 which is supplied from a sheet supply section 60 to be conveyed in a prescribed direction, and a print head 13 which is provided to be vertically opposed to the platen and is reciprocally movable in right and left directions along the platen above it. The printer 1 is configured to perform the printing on the printing medium by reciprocally moving the print head and conveying the printing medium in the prescribed direction. A guide member 40 is in a cylindrical shape extending in the right and left directions and is adapted to guide the printing medium to the top face of the platen. The guide member 40 is configured to have a plurality of guide collars 42 each being formed in a shape coaxial to the guide member and covering the circumference of the guide member to be rotatable relative thereto.
