PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To intelligibly display what part of a body cavity an ultrasonic tomographic image is showing. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 1 constructing the ultrasonic tomographic image based on ultrasonic echo signals output from an ultrasonic probe 9 inserted in the body cavity and having an ultrasonic transducer 18 at the distal end, comprises a plurality of elements 31 provided along the ultrasonic probe. Out of the plurality of elements, the element whose position or direction at least is computed by a computing means is a biaxial coil 32 disposed at the distal end side hard portion of the ultrasonic probe, and all other elements are uniaxial coils disposed along an insertion part.
