The system has a cap that is rinsed with a fluid to remove components of a gaseous fuel that is transferred through pipelines. The components are produced by leakage of the fuel from the pipelines. Valves provided in the pipelines or sensors attached to the pipelines are arranged within a pressure-cap that is designed for resisting high pressure. The pressure-cap has an inner area connected with an inner area of the cap by a throttled fluid line that allows limited allowable throughput of the fluid.
