<p>A virtual tape library device is provided with a cash disc for temporarily storing data of a physical drive, a counter host I/O server for controlling the exchange of data with a host computer, and a counter back end I/O server for controlling the exchange of data with the physical drive. In this structure, the virtual tape library holds an independent region on the cash disc for every interface connected with the cash disc, writes through the interface a predetermined data pattern in a region held at a predetermined interval, reads out through the interface the data pattern written in the region, judges whether or not the written data pattern is consistent with the read-out data pattern, and, if they are judged not to be consistent with each other, detects that the consistency of data cannot be guaranteed in the transmission and reception of data through the interface.</p> |
