<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible thermal recording medium which causes little sticking of rubbings to a heat source such as a thermal head and excels in an erasure characteristic in a state of a high conveyance speed, and also a reversible thermal recording label, a reversible thermal recording member and equipment, and to provide a method for image processing which use the reversible thermal recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The reversible thermal recording medium includes a substrate, an intermediate layer on the substrate, and a thermal recording layer on the intermediate layer which contains an electron-donating color developing compound and an electron-accepting compound and makes the color tone change reversibly dependently on temperature. The electron-accepting compound contains a compound expressed by general formula (1) and the intermediate layer contains hollow particles. The rate of hollowness of the hollow particles is 70% or above and the maximum particle diameter (D100) of the hollow particles is 5.0-10.0 μm, while the ratio (D100/D50) between the maximum particle diameter (D100) and a particle diameter (D50) in the frequency of 50% is 2.0-3.0.
