LIGHT GUIDE PLATE HAVING OPTICAL COUPLING PART

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate having a coupling part from which a high input coupling efficiency can be obtained to the thin light guide plate main body of 0.1 mm or so.

SOLUTION: The light guide plate is provided with a light guide plate main body (11) and an optical coupling part (13) for introducing light from a light source (S) into the light guide plate main body (11). The optical coupling part (13) includes one side of a bottom face (14) of a polygonal pillar and is one of a solid with a smaller volume out of two solids obtained by cutting the polygonal pillar by a plane inclining with a prescribed angle to the center axis of the polygonal pillar. The optical coupling part (13) is arranged so that the cutting face of the polygonal pillar may contact the surface (12) of the light guide plate main body (11), and the angle made by the bottom face (14) of the optical coupling part (13) and the surface (12) of the light guide plate main body (11) is 70° or more and less than 90°.
