PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for structurally-hollow fiber-reinforced plastics which exhibit excellent dynamical properties, its small variation and excellent dimensional stability when the fiber-reinforced plastics are manufactured by using a prepreg having good fluidity and molding followability to a complex shape. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for structurally-hollow fiber-reinforced plastics uses a cut prepreg base material which is composed of reinforcing fibers aligned in one direction and a thermosetting resin, and in which at least some of the reinforcing fibers are cut at a predetermined length in a reinforcing-fiber crossing direction by means of plurality of cuts. In the manufacturing method, the structurally-hollow fiber-reinforced plastics are molded sequentially through: at least a shaping step (1) of mounting a laminate of a plurality of prepreg base materials, containing at least the cut prepreg base material, on an expandable mandrel; a molding step (2) of arranging the laminate along with the mandrel in a molding tool, softening the thermosetting resin, extending the laminate, and pressing the laminate against the molding tool and curing the same so as to turn it into fiber-reinforced plastics; and a mold release step (3) of taking out the fiber-reinforced plastics from the molding tool.
