摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device that can instantly respond to rapid increase in power consumption and stably display an image without causing a malfunction of a data electrode drive circuit. SOLUTION: The plasma display device includes: a temperature calculation unit 54 for calculating an estimated temperature in each of data drivers IC1 to ICp based on image data and outputting the maximum value; a data power converting unit 52 for converting the image data so as to reduce the power consumption in the data electrode drive circuit 42 when the temperature calculated in the temperature calculation unit 54 is equal to or higher than a predetermined temperature threshold; a power calculation unit 55 for calculating a sum of the estimated values of power consumption in the respective data drivers IC1 to ICp based on the image data; and an IC forced stop unit 56 for outputting a signal of stopping the operation of the data drivers IC1 to ICp when the power calculated in the power calculation unit 55 is equal to or higher than a predetermined power threshold.
