PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein, among temperature sensors manufactured in mass production, a thermistor element stored in a temperature-sensing part cover is brought into contact with the inner periphery surface of the temperature-sensing part cover to be sometimes broken, by vibration received from the outside. SOLUTION: A smaller amount of insulating members 107 than the volume of a storage part 108 are supplied to the inside of the temperature-sensing part cover 104. After fitting and fixing a sheath pin 105 to the temperature-sensing part cover 104, an aperture is generated without fail in the storage part 108. Then, the outer periphery surface of the temperature-sensing part cover 104 constituting the storage part 108 is caulked, to thereby reduce the volume of the storage part 108 as much as an aperture portion or more. Therefore, mass production of an exhaust temperature sensor 100 wherein the storage part 108 is filled with the insulating members 107 becomes possible regardless of dispersion of the supply amount of the insulating members 107. Resultantly, the thermistor element 101 can be prevented from being physically broken by vibration of the exhaust temperature sensor 100. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
