PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition effective for a high-fuel-economy-sided studless tire, with low heat generation tendency/abrasion resistance/on-ice performance balanced. SOLUTION: The rubber composition comprises (A) a total of 100 pts.wt. of (i) 50-80 pts.wt. of natural rubber or a natural rubber/polyisoprene rubber blend containing 20 pts.wt. or more of a solid low-stable-viscosity natural rubber prepared by pulse-spray-drying a natural rubber latex containing 0.001 wt.% or more, based on solid natural rubber, of a stable-viscosity-imparting agent, with a magnesium content decreased to 0.02 wt.% or less, based on the solid natural rubber, by the addition of a water-soluble ammonium salt and (ii) 20-50 pts.wt. of a polybutadiene rubber and (B) 1-10 pts.wt. of a compounding agent, i.e. thermally expandable microcapsules, expanded graphite, pulverized rubber and/or staple fibers.
