The present invention provides a preparation method of rivastigmine and its intermediates. The present invention provides a preparation method of the formula (1) compound by reacting the formula (2) compound with CH<SUB>3</SUB>X or CH<SUB>3</SUB>CH<SUB>2</SUB>X in the presence of base, wherein X is a suitable leaving-group; R is methyl or ethyl; when R is methyl, the formula (2) compound is reacted with CH<SUB>3</SUB>CH<SUB>2</SUB>X; when R is ethyl, the formula (2) compound is reacted with CH<SUB>3</SUB>X. The preparation method according to the invention does not utilize ethylmethylcarbamoylchloride. |
