<p>A catalyst carrier comprising a honeycomb structure having longitudinally extending cells partitioned by a cell wall and, disposed on the periphery of the honeycomb structure, a coat layer, characterized in that each of the honeycomb structure and the coat layer contains inorganic fibers and the inorganic fibers contained in the honeycomb structure are mainly oriented in a first direction while the inorganic fibers contained in the coat layer are mainly oriented in a second direction, the first direction being substantially perpendicular to the second direction.</p> |
