PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion attachment mass spectroscope which can form a state in which a metal ion attached to a specific molecule such as H<SB>2</SB>O is desorbed and the metal ion is attached to a measuring gas only, thus improving the reliability of the measurement of the measuring gas. SOLUTION: In the ion attachment mass spectroscope 10 which generates attached ions in an attachment chamber 102 by attaching a positively charged metal ion to a molecule of the measuring gas, and performing the mass spectrometric analysis of the attached ion in a mass spectrometric analysis chamber 103, the interior of the attachment chamber 102 is irradiated with an electromagnetic wave of a frequency coinciding with the absorption band of a specific molecule coexisting in the measuring gas, whereby the metal ion attached to the specific molecule is desorbed, or the metal ion is inhibited from being attached to the specific molecule.
