PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave heating apparatus which can heat uniformly a heating object even if a heating chamber has a wide width-wise dimension. SOLUTION: The microwave heating apparatus is provided with a heating chamber 4 having a wide width-wise dimension to accommodate a heating object to be heated by microwave, an antenna 8 to irradiate microwave in the heating chamber, a driving means 10 to drive the antenna, and a controlling means 11 to control the driving means and a direction of the antenna. The antenna 8 is provided in an approximately central portion of the heating chamber of a wide width-wise dimension and irradiate microwave to both end portions of the antenna in the heating chamber. In addition to the microwave irradiated from the antenna, the microwave irradiated from microwave irradiating ports of the both end portions of the heating chamber helps secure a uniform heating even if the heating chamber has a wide width-wise dimension, and moreover only one driving means to drive the antenna can serve the purpose like a conventional one and a cost can be reduced.
