PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for improving positioning accuracy of an information reading component such as an optical pickup. SOLUTION: In a disk drive 10, a supply voltage control section 32 controls a voltage applied to a thread motor 5 to transfer an optical pickup 3 in accordance with a voltage control pattern set according to the target transfer distance of the optical pickup 3. A correction section 34 adjusts the voltage control pattern according to a difference between the actual transfer distance of the optical pickup 3 obtained in the past and the target transfer distance. Specifically, a transfer error calculation section 28 obtains an average value of differences between the actual transfer distances obtained more than once in the past and the target transfer distance.
