PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment apparatus and a delivery method of an heat-treated object capable of delivering the tabular heat-treated object falling down from a conveying roller and obstructing following conveyance without stopping heat treatment operation. SOLUTION: The heat treatment apparatus is provided with a delivery belt 10 for delivering the heat-treated plate 1 falling down from the conveying roller 2 to an outside of a heat treatment chamber 3, a falling-down detection mechanism 30 for detecting falling-down of the heat-treated plate 1 onto the delivery belt 10, a falling-down direction detecting mechanism 40 for detecting a falling-down direction of the heat-treated plate 1 in a raised state where a part thereof is protruded to an upper part of the conveying roller 2 on the delivery belt 10, a falling-down position detecting mechanism 50 for detecting a position of the heat-treated plate 1 of which falling-down direction is detected, and a delivery determination mechanism 60 for making the delivery belt 10 travel in a delivery direction after making the delivery belt 10 travel so as to promote falling-down of the heat-treated plate 1 based on the position information detected by the falling-down position detecting mechanism 50 in accordance with the detection result of the falling-down direction detecting mechanism 40.
