Method for optimising control of the synchronisers in a gearbox when shifting gears

The method involves applying synchronization torque to a synchronizer (18) associated to a final speed ratio (RF). The synchronization torque is a function of the speed deviation between an initial speed ratio (RI) and the final ratio. The synchronization torque presents a forced increased ramp until maximum synchronization torque. The maximum synchronization torque is obtained by specific formula having parameters e.g. speed deviation, maximum power acceptable by the synchronizer, inertia of rotating parts subjected to the synchronization torque and the synchronization torque per unit effort.
