<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems of the conventional playing system that its minus one function simply sounds or silences all of the specific parts within a plurality of the parts and cannot silence only the portion included in those parts, and in order to realize the same, the portions to be silenced have to be indicated one by one and even when the same or similar portions are present at a plurality of points within the music and such points are to be silenced, these points have to be independently indicated one by one, and such a work takes a great deal of time and labor and is troublesome. <P>SOLUTION: In the system, phrases are registered in advance and the similarity of the phrase constituted by a part of the music data and the registered phrases is calculated, the sound production by automatic playing is prohibited for the phrase having the prescribed or higher similarity, and the music of another pitches is automatically played.
