<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type liquid crystal display element of high display quality which is easily manufactured without forming a 3rd film, and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: Disclosed is the reflection type liquid crystal display element which has liquid crystal sandwiched between a couple of substrates having electrodes respectively and has a reflection element formed of a thin film made principally of aluminum as one of the electrodes of the couple of substrates.
