<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To intensify brightness of a transmissive display by using a prism sheet, in a liquid crystal device in which a reflective display and a transmissive display are switchable between each other. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device is equipped with an illumination means 115 to emit light toward a liquid crystal element, and a translucent reflection film 114 with a linearly shaped opening portion arranged thereon is disposed between a liquid crystal layer 103 and the illumination means 115. A prism sheet 116 is disposed between the illumination means 115 and the translucent reflection film 114, wherein a ridge line formed on an upper surface of the prism sheet and a longitudinal direction of the opening portion mutually perpendicularly intersect. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
