摘要 An electrosurgical generator 20 has a control system formed by an array of logic gates, such as a FPGA 21, programmed for regulating at least one parameter of output power, output voltage or output current of an output electrosurgical signal in a closed loop response to sensed values of the output voltage and the output current. An output transformer 36 couples the power from the generator to the electro-surgical instrument 30, 35. A simulation algorithm uses voltage and current signals measured by sensors 52, 56 from a primary winding 38 of the transformer 36, and calculates the expected output voltage and current delivered from the secondary windings 40 of the transformer. The simulation algorithm mimics the inherent distortion in the values of the current and voltage induced in the secondary windings of the transformer, which is not present in the values sensed from the primary windings.
