A rubber conveyer belt comprises a set of longitudinal steel rope inserts 2, and transverse strands 3 spaced along the length of the belt, in which the strands 3 are mechanically coupled with the longitudinal ropes 2 without influencing the position of the same. The transverse strands 3 are preformed to pass over and under the ropes 2 before being embedded in the rubber 1 and the position of the preforming is staggered on adjacent transverse strands 3. The strands 3 comprise open woven metal tubes woven around an unvulcanized rubber core and subsequently pressed flat. |
