摘要 An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to compensate a thickness difference among color filters without using an overcoat to secure the cell gap according to a sub pixel region, thereby simplifying the manufacturing process of a color filter substrate. An LCD device(200) includes a liquid crystal layer, a color filter substrate(210), and a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) substrate(110). The color filter substrate has color filters(R,G,B) formed on a first substrate(112) and represents colors. The TFT substrate is formed to be opposite to the color filter substrate with the liquid crystal layer, has different thicknesses according to a transmitting region(TAr,TAg,TAb) of a sub pixel area(PAr,PAg,PAb), and applies a driving voltage for driving the liquid crystal layer to the liquid crystal layer. The TFT substrate includes a gate line and a data line, a TFT, and a pixel electrode(126). The gate line and the data line are formed to cross each other on a second substrate. The TFT is formed to be connected to the gate line and the data line. The pixel electrode is formed to be connected to the TFT and has different heights(Hr,Hg,Hb) according to the transmitting region of the sub pixel area.
