A surface mounted housing is provided for an elongate flexible member, such as a fibre optic, electrical cable or pipe. A front opening in a front surface 22 of the housing receives a connector 50 for the elongate flexible member 56. A base 42, 48.1 of the housing can be at least partially received under an embedding layer 62 for mounting the housing on the surface. An internal cavity 15 in the housing joins the front opening to a rear opening 38 in the base. The cavity and the rear opening are wider than the elongate flexible member to facilitate mounting of the housing. The housing may be used on an aircraft. |
