PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a gas generator the necessity without installing independently a liquid storage tank for a liquid to be mixed with a first liquid or solid raw material as a second raw material, and a collection tank for by- products to be collected. SOLUTION: The hydrogen generator 1 is equipped with a hydride storage tank 3 for a hydride 2, the water storage tank 4, and a reaction tank 5 for carrying out the reaction of the hydride and water. The hydride storage tank 3 and the water storage tank 4 are connected by a duct 6 with an electromagnetic valve 8. When operating the hydrogen generator 1 the water in the tank 4 is transferred to the hydride storage tank 3 by increasing the pressure of the water storage tank 4-side pressure to higher than that of the hydride storage tank 3. An aqueous solution of the hydride is prepared therein and transferred to the reaction tank 5. The water storage tank 4 is also used as the collection tank for collecting products after the reaction in the reaction tank 5. |
