Device and method for monitoring the pressure of a vehicle tire using an inclinometer

The devices (12A, 12B) have electrolytic type inclinometers (IT1, IT2) carried by axles (T1, T2) respectively, and used for measuring an inclination angle of the axles relative to a direction around an inclination axis parallel to the direction, where the direction corresponds to a longitudinal direction of a heavy goods vehicle (10). A calculating unit calculates projections of the angle of the axles within a given time. Another calculating unit calculates tracking error from the projections, where the error permits to compare the two projections of the angle of the axles. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling pressure of a tire of a vehicle.
