The device (1) has a winding shaft (2) supporting a winding drum (3) on which a suspension cord is wound during rotation of the shaft around an axis of the shaft to displace a blind. A closed ring (13) surrounds the drum, where a face (131) of the ring forms a support surface for the cord when the cord is wound on the drum. The support surface defines an inlet zone of the cord and an outlet zone of the cord along an axis (6) of the shaft. A guiding passage guides the cord from the inlet zone to a winding zone, and limits mobility of the cord angularly around the drum.
