To optimize in advance an amount of a desired parameter incorporated in a pulse sequence performed by an imaging scan, a preparation scan is adopted. A preparation scan performing element (1-8T,8R) performs the preparation scan with the inversion time TI changed every preparatory image, so that data of a plurality of preparatory images at a desired region of the object can be acquired. A preparatory image producing element (6,10,11) produces the acquired data into a plurality of preparatory images for display by means of a displaying element (6,12). A selection element (6,13) allows an operator to select a desired preparatory image from the plural preparatory images displayed. By a setting element (6), the inversion time given from the selected preparatory image is set to the pulse sequence.
