Method and heart-rate monitor

Heart rate is detected in a remote device (such as a chest belt sensing device) and recorded along with a time datum relating to the time at which each heart beat is detected. A message signal containing remote device identification data and the time data relating to the time of occurrence of each measured heart beat is transmitted to a terminal device (such as a wristwatch computer). The terminal device receives the message signal and calculates pulse rate data and pulse interval data. The time may be provided by an internal clock in the remote device, and the telemetry may be wireless.
