Coaxial cable connector gripping cable at two different locations

A coaxial cable connector includes a connector body 12, a locking sleeve 14 and a gripping ferrule 16. After the cable 100 has been inserted, the locking sleeve is moved into the body. Ramps 56 and 58 on the sleeve and body act on fingers 60 at each end of the ferrule, moving them radially inward. Thus the cable is gripped at two axially spaced locations. The ferrule may be internally threaded or corrugated, and may have a groove (51, Fig 8) to prevent rotation. The connector requires less preparation of the cable.
