An evaporative emissions control system for an engine including a fuel tank (20) having a fuel tank vapor space, a carburetor (35) coupled to the fuel tank (20), and a fuel tank cap (40) having fuel vapor adsorption media (240) that adsorbs vapor from the fuel tank vapor space. The fuel tank cap (40) is in fluid communication with the carburetor (35) via the vapor space and is configured to permit fuel vapor stored in the fuel adsorption media (240) to be purged into the carburetor via the vapor space.
