A movement device using a roller device, in which play in the direction of the axis of a roller is appropriately reduced, which has small operation resistance, and in which the roller has less wear. Grooves (40) are formed in a guidance surface (2a) of a support rail (2), running along the direction in which movement bodies (4) are guided. Peripheral ridges (42) entering in the grooves (40) and having a height less than the depth of the grooves (40) are formed on the outer peripheral surfaces (6b, 7b). The grooves (40) and the peripheral ridges (42) are constructed such that both edges (40a, 40b) of each groove (40) and both edges (42a, 42b) of each peripheral ridge (42) are in contact with each other and that outer surfaces (42c) of each peripheral ridge (42) are not in contact with inner surfaces (40c) of each groove (40). An angle R1 formed by a guidance surface (2a) and an inner side surface (40c) of a groove (40) is set smaller than an angle R2 formed by the guidance surface (2a) and an outer side surface (42c) of a peripheral ridge (42). |
