A spindle motor assembly is provided to facilitate separation of an encoder from a receiving box by easily detaching a cover from a support member. A substrate(110) has a PCB(Printed Circuit Board)(115). A spindle motor is mounted on the substrate to rotate a disk(50). A support member(220) is mounted on the PCB. A terminal(230) is integrated with the support member. A lower part of the terminal is soldered on the PCB, and an upper part thereof is exposed to an upper part of the support member. An encoder(210) is connected to an upper part of the terminal and senses an identification mark(53) of the disk to sense a rotation speed of the disk. A cover(240) is detachably coupled with the support member and presses the encoder to the terminal to bring the encoder in contact with the terminal.
